I had moved in with my boyfriend and he did not have a washer or dryer, so he went to Aaron's Sales and Lease and rented one. I did not sign the contract. My name is not on the contract at all. Months later we took a break from each other and he took his belongings, and now Aaron's will not leave me alone. They keep harassing me and coming by my house. I already told them he does not live here and I do not have their stuff. They insist we are together.
One day they called me at work and told me one of my ex-boyfriend's references told them we are still together and I am lying. I told the guy to stop getting into my personal life and that none of it was any of his business. I complained to the managers over and over again. A manager stated that because I went to make a payment for my now ex-boyfriend, it is now my responsibility to pay them. I then yelled at them that no, it was not, and that I never signed any contract stating I leased the washer and dryer. They completely ignored me.
A month passed and I had not heard from them. I moved out of my old apartment and moved to a different neighborhood. Two weeks after settling in, they began to harass me again, calling nonstop and leaving messages. I called them back and once again told them to stop calling me, that I do not have the washer and dryer, and to leave me alone. Once again they told me I was lying and said, "We know you have them. We have references stating that your boyfriend still lives with you." I got mad and hung up, and two days later they came knocking on my door again.
I opened the door and a very large man stepped up to me and said they were there for the washers and dryers. I was shocked. How did they get my new address? I do not have anything of theirs. Why are they here? They repeatedly knocked over and over and started knocking on my windows. At one point I was scared when they tried twisting the door knob. Why will they not leave me alone? I never signed the lease. I am not even on the contract.
They come by every day. I have neighbors who tell me, "Oh, your rent place came by. They knocked forever until we told them you were not there." This is embarrassing enough. I have already told them to stop harassing me.
