All Sub-Contractors who have been hired by Anil Uppal, and Homeowners who have hired Anil Uppal to builded their homes should beware this man and his wife are scam artist, who WILL rip you off in the end.
We hired his company to builded our home in Marshall Field subdivision in March. We took possession of our home at the end of July at the time of our final walk through before we took possession of our home I made note on our inspection report that there were several items that needed to be addressed, cracks in our hardwood floor, areas that were never painted, spa tub and garbage disposal did not work, chips and gouges in our wood cabinets, and wood trim.By end of August, only my garbage disposal, and spa tub were corrected, my hardwood floors and wood cabinets still need to be replaced, and my husband and I painted the area that were never painted.By this time we had found out that Anil Uppal had closed his businesses in Michigan, and left several subcontractors unpaid.By mid-September we had received 6 notice of liens on our home, and Anil Uppal was gone. We spoke with other neighbors that had their homes built by Accu Homes Marshall Fields and found he did the same thing to them as well.
This is not just an unhappy home owner ranting and raving about some items that were never complete, or their home wasn't perfect, but 3 homeowners that had to go through the court system to have these liens removed, and to keep from paying twice for work that was already paid for by us. Our liens had to be paid for by the state of Michigans Lien Recovery Fund, and he never appeared in court, nor did he ever respond to this court action.
When all this started with the liens on my home, I started doing some digging on my own on this person, and found that he did this to many others, but no one had ever filed a complaint against him or any of his companies. I also found out that he not only didn't pay our subcontractors, but when he had his own home built by his company, he had liens placed on his own home by subcontractors that he did not pay, and only paid before the actual court date happened. His model homes he built here in our subdivision were foreclosed on by the bank for failure of paying taxes on, and or making payments on.
All of this information is a matter of public record here in Michigan, and I would be willing to help anyone else who has had to deal with this man and any of his company who are seeking to make him pay for his double dealings.
If I or any of the other homeowners ever find out that this man is back in this state, we will be fighting to be the first one calling the police, and our attorney to make sure he is made to pay for what he put us through.
