The MINWAX rebate offer through Home Depot was a complete rip-off.
They required their certificate, the original sales receipt from Home Depot only, dated between 9/22/02-11/09/02 for $5 per gallon, up to a $10 refund for purchasing Minwax fast-drying polyurethane.
I sent the original sales receipt, which was aggrevating since it was over $250 worth of all kinds of items, and I might need the original receipt to return something else.
Send the UPC, the sales receipt, the original certificate to the address:
Minwax Gallons of Savings Rebate
PO Box 1165
Grand Rapids, MN 55745-1165.
I purchased 4 gallons, but could only get a refund for 2 gallons, as their refund was limited to $10 (not in the advertising, but on the certificate). I never received my $10 refund, and when I sent a follow up postcard to the PO Box above, the card came back as it being a closed box.
Screw minwax and screw home depot!
Deceptive, the refund was used in advertising by Home Depot, what a total scam for a lousy $10.
It will cost that company a lot more than the $10 they gypped me out of, I will never buy a minwax product again.
I also think it's obnoxious for companies to require the original receipt. A photocopy would work just as well, customers can't return other items that might be on the receipt without the original.
I hate minwax! I hate home depot!
