Maid Brigade
Breach of Contract, Wrongful Submission of Debt to Collections

Maid Brigade is attempting to collect a non-existent debt and attack my consumer credit rating in retaliation for consumer complaints filed with BBB and Angie's List. Maid Brigade has submitted false debt to a collection agency.

Maid Brigade was hired to perform basic cleaning services for my home. The agreed-upon services were not provided and reported time spent on site was falsified by Maid Brigade's cleaning team. Maid Brigade was informed in several voice mail and e-mail messages of the issues and management was instructed not to make any electronic withdrawals from my account until the issues were discussed. Maid Brigade did not respond to my complaints and ignored the authorization revocation. An electronic check was processed in the amount of $63.29 and cleared my checking account. Since this payment was not authorized and no communication had been received from Maid Brigade, a complaint was filed with my bank. Maid Brigade issued a refund and returned the funds to my bank, thus enabling my bank to credit my account. Almost immediately after the refund was processed, Maid Brigade retaliated by sending me a new invoice in the amount of $63.29 and added a $35 returned check fee, even though the payment had not been refused by my bank. Maid Brigade's payment cleared my account, so their $35 returned check fee is not applicable. I filed a dispute with a consumer resource organization known as "Angie's List." Angie's List advised Maid Brigade of my dispute and Maid Brigade retaliated further by submitting my account to a collection agency known as Saturn Systems on the same day. I believe that this is an attempt to harass me and damage my credit, which has the potential to negatively impact future interest rates and credit approvals. Currently, my FICO middle score is 752 with no collection history. Maid Brigade was not willing to work with Angie's List to resolve the matter and the dispute ended in a stalemate. I filed a complaint with the BBB that was closed and then reopened at my request after I provided supporting documentation and it appears that Maid Brigade had no response. I am now bringing the matter to the attorney general since this has become an issue of credit. If you have been defrauded by Maid Brigade, please contact your state's attorney general's office and BBB. This company needs to be shut down.
