In July, my boyfriend, Jake, was looking to rent a condo in Florida. He used Cliff Story as his realtor who showed him several properties. He seemed knowledgable and very nice to work with. After gaining the confidence and trust of Jake, he found a place that he liked and was able to afford.
Before he was able to move in, Cliff Story told him he needed a month's rent and security in advance, and then would meet with the owner and get the key to the condo. Jake gave Cliff Story $3000; then he was never able to get hold of Cliff to get the key! After calling and calling, Cliff eventually told him that the "owner" of the condo was going to sell it and wasn't going to rent it, so Jake asked Cliff to return his $3000.
Jake never got ANY of his money back. He was unable to recoup from this great loss and ended up with nowhere to live and no funds to get into anything else. Calling and pleading to Cliff Story didn't help at all. He just didn't care!!!
Jake filed a complaint with the Board of Realtors against Cliff Story to have his license stripped from him, but apparently it did no good!!! Beware of CLIFF STORY!!! He's a con man and a crook!!!
