I contacted C&H Movers and corrsponded with Cliff on several occasions leading up to my move. He provided me with a flat rate and I called all 3 references he provided me. He arrived 30 minutes late (which was fine... No big deal) with a truck and a one (1) non-english speaking helper. They worked deligently, however, my complaint is that although he quoted me a flat rate, once he started moving things he revealed that wrapping the furniture would be extra. I provided Cliff and his helper with a nice lunch (nice crab cake meal) and provided them with water throughout the day. (All that to say, I was a really nice customer and I didn't even complain about the extra wrapping fee.) To make a long story a little shorter he damaged seveal pieces of my Crate & Barrel furniture, specifically my wall unit and bedroom set. He attempted to repair the wall unit which i paid extra to have wrapped (and i paid for the supplies to try and repair it) and did a less then average job. Once I paid him (and I tipped him well), I later noticed nics, scraps and scratches to several of my furniture pieces (I even sent him pictures of the damage.) I contacted Cliff and he apologized profusely and said he would come by "next week" and "see what he can do." I did not hear from Cliff, I sent him several text messages and emails and he did not respond. I tried calling from an alternative phone and he suprisingly answered the phone! I asked if he received my messages, he said yes and he's been busy. He then told me that the damage to my furniture was from wear and tear (WHAT?!) and he then hung up the phone.
