We purchased a water softener from Warta Water. The promotion was purchase the water softer for $1800 and get a free Reverse Osmosis System. We asked Dan the owner how much he would give us credit if we did not want the ROS. He said he would give us $200. We decided to have the ROS installed. The man came to install it. We asked him nicely to remove his shoes, because it was muddy and snowing. He said"no I wont, I dont ever take my shoes off when I work, I dont even take them off at home and I WONT take them off here. He installed the ROS.
When he was finished we tried to use the spicket on our new refrigerator, which is what we always used, but the water would just trickle out. We tried to use the hard water faucet on the sink and it was so tall it would splash water all over the counters by the time it would get cold.
I called Dan up the next business day and told him we didnt like not having water pressure and water splattering all over. He said we would need to buy a pump for $150. I told him I didn want to spend anymore money. So he said they would come remove it and give us 10 bags of salt instead. I called him back because when we talked to him the first time he said he would give us $200 dollars, not 10 bags of salt. I told him what he had said to us, and he started yelling and using foul language, stating that he would only give us the salt, not $200 dollars anymore. I said we didnt know we needed a pump or we wouldn have had you put it in. He said thats to bad. He started saying to the people he was with, "they are just trying to screw and scam me. He then said "ok fine I will either give you $125 or the pump, which one will it be?"I said one more time that he told us he would give us $200. He yelled "Ok I changed my mind you either take the pump or the salt got it!"and then hung up on me.
He then called the man removing our ROS and told him to get the ROS and get the hell out of our house. We told him not to take the ROS until we had things settled, so he left.
After he left we realized he never put our faucet back in our sink so we had a hole and no faucet. I called Dan up and told him and he said that was to bad. We told him we were not going to give the ROS back until we could come to an agreement so things were fair. He said he was going to send us a bill and if we didn pay it he would send it to the collection agent. We said to him that by treating customers like this he would loose business. He said"Oh well, so the cat licks the dog's a*"Finally we just said, come back put our faucet back in and take your stuff. We had enough.
The man came back put our faucet back in, 2 days later our kitchen was all water because the faucet was over tightened and broke. We had to pay over $300 dollars for a new faucet and a service call to the plumber, because of what he did. We have never been treated so RUDELY from a company before.
On 1-27 We received a bill from Warta Water for 10 bags of salt, in which we never purchased and didnt need, Dan pushed them onto us instead of sticking to his word. They also charged us for parts to reconnect our faucet, when they took it all apart. So now we have a bill, no ROS, and no $200.
We have reported this to the better business bureau, the attorney general of mn as well as the police dept. I have also spoken to an attorney in regards to the situation as well.
On 3-5 I contacted Dan to try once again to resolve this matter with him. I said "Dan I think there has just been to much damage done to continue our business, it would be appreciated if you guys would remove the Water softener and can have everything back, just refund our money". The reason is because if anything would go wrong with this system we would have to continue to work with this company and that wont work. Dan raised his voice at me and said "Here is the deal, legally the dept of health will not let me remove the softener after we installed it in your house" Just as I began to talk he shouted at me "SHUT UP AND LISTEN, YOU BOUGHT IT, YOU PAID FOR IT, TOUGH DEAL WITH IT" I said I was going to have to take it to legal matters then, and he said "GOOD GO AHEAD AND TAKE ME TO COURT! GOODBYE" and he hung up.
