My wife and I purchased a new dining room set, a new sofa and 2 chairs for our den on Feb 7. We were told when we paid for them that the dinette would be available for delivery in one week and the sofa and chairs in 2-2 1/2 weeks. We thought no problem. They contract their delivery and it was going to cost us $130.00 for the delivery. We said just deliver it all at one time.

I contacted the store on Feb 15th to check on delivery. At that time I was told that the dinette would be in around April 1 and the store had only received 1 of the 2 chairs and the other one and the sofa would be in around March 1st.

I then contacted Customer Service in Sherwood AR and was told to contact the store manager to see what was going on. On Monday, Feb 18th, I called the store again and asked for the manager. Tim answered the phone and said there was nothing he could do, that the dinette was in a container in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and he would check to see if the sofa and other chair was in and call me back in a few minutes. Two hours later I called the store back and asked for the manager and was told he is off on Monday. I said I talked to him a couple hours ago. Then I was told that was the assistant manager. (Okay) Enough Run Around!!!

My wife and I were in Little Rock, AR so we went to the Corporate Office in Sherwood, AR to speak directly with customer service. The receptionist said that one person would be out to help us. A few minutes later someone different came out and told us that all we could do was to talk to the store manager. The Customer Service person did call John. We also found out that the Store Computers are only updated from the warehouse once a week. (You can sell out a warehouse in a week).

On our way home we stopped by the store in Ft. Smith and spoke with John the Manager. John said we could get a different dinette but we would have to pay a 25% restock fee! (restock, you don't even have it in stock!!!) then he checked our order again. He said it would be at least the second week of April before the dinette and sofa arrived because they are on the same container in the Pacific Ocean. He did finally offer to let us pick a different dinette set without paying the 25% restock fee but the other one we might have chosen wouldn't be in the warehouse until at least Feb 29th (uh oh - been there! And we liked the original better). We asked if we could get the floor model and he said NO! That's our Biggest Seller!!! If we didn't have it on the floor we couldn't sell it and we will probably sell at least 30 of those before yours gets here.

So here we sit, after getting rid of our old dinette (which was in good shape we just wanted a new one) eating dinner on the floor. Hopefully the ship won't sink!

Come to find out my sister had to wait 2 months to get her furniture delivered from the sister store (The Home Place in Ohio)!
