I contracted Empire Today on August 31 to provide the service of laying new carpet at my home. This was supposed to be a one day installation starting at 8 A.M. On Tuesday, September 4, and they did not arrive until 10:15 A.M. The installers started the job, and by mid-afternoon, stated they did not have enough carpet to complete the job, and would be back on Wednesday, September 5 to complete the job.
I contacted the Customer Service Department and notified them about the shortage of carpet, and they stated the installers would be back on Wednesday, September 5th. The installers never showed. I contacted Customer Service Department on Wednesday, September 5th, late afternoon, stating that the installers did not show up, and they said the installers would be here on Thursday, September 6th. The installers never showed up again. I repeated the above process everyday for the next four days, and the installer never showed up to complete the job.
I have contacted Empire Today 25 times or more to come and complete this job. When I couldn't get any satisfaction, I contacted Amex, to see if they could resolve this issue. Amex tried for 30 days, to resolve this issue, and received the same run around from Empire Today. At that point, Amex resolved the dispute in my favor, and stated that Empire need to come and retrieve their carpet. Amex and I have tried to resolve this issue with Empire.
Now, they have turned this account over to a collection agency. On Tuesday, December 18, I sent a certified letter to the I C Systems ("collection agency") to dispute the claim, and provided supporting documentation, showing that Empire Today never finished the job, and they were paid in the beginning, but Amex reversed the charged.
Well I was informed by the collection agency on Friday, January 25, that Empire Today did not respond to their request regarding me disputing the claim, but by law they were going to report this collection to the credit bureau. Will you please tell me how this is fair? This is going to affect my credit, and I'm the victim in this situation.
The monies were paid in the beginning, and Amex pulled the monies back, because they had not completed the job. Additionally, on Empire Today's Complaint Summary, it shows the following three items: 1) There was no balance due on the account, 2) There was a problem with the carpet, and 3) The job was never finished.
As of Friday, January 25, Empire Today has not completed the job at my house. I have a house with an incomplete carpet installation. Empire-Today was paid a deposit on Friday, August 31 and paid the balance before the installation began on Tuesday, September 4.
The bottom line is that Empire did not complete the job, and installed an inferior product. I can't even vacuum the carpet without it coming apart.
At this stage of the game, I have documented all phone calls and correspondence to and from Empire. The Amex agent that was dealing with Empire has documented all calls and correspondence to and from Empire. I am going to fight this to the end!
Empire needs to send the Installation Manager to my home, so they can see for themselves the problems with this carpet. Empire has created this problem, and has refused to resolve this issue.
Empire Today is a bunch of crooks, thieves and liars. And Troy Pringle is the head of the group.
As with every case, they claim they give the best customer service, but that is a blatant lie.
Now, the con artist are trying to ruin my credit. Well if you read this Troy Pringle, you have a lot of nerve to turn my account over to a collection agency, stating none payment, when you have not even completed the job at my home. Amex reversed the charges because you would not respond to their repeated request for information.
Empire sucks!!
