Empire Today - Carpet

I got 4 carpet estimates and Empire was the cheapest, but I found out the hard way you get what you pay for. I went to Home Depot for an estimate last and told them they were $1000 higher than Empire. They were willing to match Empire's quote and told me to make sure the carpet I selected from Empire was the higher grade of carpet. When I asked the salesman about that he said there were not different grades of the carpet I picked out. When I took Empire's carpet sample to Home Depot I found there was a major difference between the two as Home Depot's was much thicker and higher quality. I have several complaints about Empire:
1. The salesman measured incorrectly so the installers ran out of carpet. I had to wait until the next day to finish the installation because they couldn't get it down from LA until the next day.
2. The installers worked long hours the first day-a 13 hour day from 9:00 am to 10:30 pm and as a result my 6:30 meeting at my house had to be moved outside so we culd hear each other over the banging.
3. The installers were scheduled for 3 jobs the next day on top of mine. Obviously, the scheduler knows nothing about carpet installation.
4. There are several places where there are bumps when stepping on the carpet. It feels like they didn't scrape up all the glue from the old carpet pad.
5. You can see where the carpet was patched together.
6. When transitioning from the carpet to hardwood floors you have to make sure you don't step on where the carpet butts up again the hardwood floor or you get staples stuck in your feet which is very painful.
7. My new carpet looks like it's balding. You can see the bottom of the carpet as it is not a thick carpet at all.

I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Empire and will never use them again. They couldn't give me their carpet! I will also make sure none of my friends use them either!
