We got a great deal on a new refrigerator/freezer. When it was delivered, though, the ice maker was missing. Now my husband and I both saw it on the showroom floor, and *parts* of the icemaker were still in the fridge (storage bucket, kit installation instructions, etc).
We called the shop, and the salespeople swore it never had one. We talked to the owner who offered to order one and sell it to us at cost (50 or 60 bucks). They later offered us free delivery on our next purchase, but come on—who wants to buy a second time from a shady company. I want my icemaker or some form of real compensation!
When we first bought, we were so happy to be buying from a nice local shop rather than a big-box store. We found what we wanted, and everything went smoothly! Now we are left with a bitter taste in our mouths, as it seems that the deal was altered after we left the table (intentionally or unintentionally).
