When we bought our house in July it came with a home warranty covered by First American Home Buyers Protection Corporation. We have had problems with the Jacuzzi leaking almost from day one. The first "service technician" they sent out said he replaced a diverter valve when in fact he did nothing. They spent weeks trying to get another technician to come out. Finally got someone else but then they cancelled the appointment after I had been waiting at the house to meet them for over an hour. They said they did not work on above ground Jacuzzi's. Why did First American contract with them in the first place? After a few more weeks and at least 20 phone calls they found another technician who did come out but he only found part of the leak. When I called him back to tell him it was still leaking he admitted that he should have taken all of the skirting off to find the entire leak and root cause of the problem. Took forever for him to come back out which ended up being January 14. This has gone on now for 6 months. The technician came out in the rain and never came back. Spent weeks on the phone with him monitoring the Jacuzzi and trying to find the leak. He kept saying he would come out but never did. I kept calling First American telling them that the leak was not fixed and we can't use the Jacuzzi. The technician finally said that First American was not paying him enough to come back out and it just was not worth it. After speaking with three survice supervisors and four claims specialists they then decided to deny the claim as they deemed the leak inaccessible and according to the terms of the contract it was not covered. I finally figured out where the leak was (it is in a very accessible location and easy to get to) and when I explained this to them they said they would send someone out to fix it. After about 15 phone calls and 10 faxes they still have not sent anyone out. They will not respond to any of my calls, e-mails or faxes. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with and would never recommend them or do business with them again. They want your contract dollars but don't want to honor the contract and fix the problem. They will look for any way possible to get out of having to fix the problem. They are very nice over the phone but then DO NOT PERFORM!!!
