Incompetent, unprofessional shyster Ripoff

Arthur Ingram is the owner of Work of Art Appliances and I hired him to repair my refrigerator after receiving other quotes on repair costs. His price was the most reasonable and he could come to service it immediately. Our business relationship has gone completely downhill eversince.

After a misdiagnosis of weak compression and lack of freon, he replaced the existing refrigerator with one of his that he guaranteed for a year. It was a month before it broke down and needed a new heating element to help with the defrosting/cooling.

It took Art three days to remove and replace the part. However, the most disturbing part of the ordeal came during a discussion concerning his return time when Art became extremely argumentative and swore!

As of September 22 I have had the replacement refrigerator exactly two months and two days and it is in need of another repair. Art was called on Monday and he came on Tuesday as scheduled. He was to return Wednesday with the new parts.

During my call to confirm on Wednesday Art could not make the appointment so we rescheduled for Thursday. Thursday he came to check the model number of the part (why he did not do this on Tuesday is a mystery) and said he would be back between noon and 3:30pm.

He had not arrived by 4pm so I called concerning his whereabouts. I reached his voice mail and asked him to call me. At 5pm I called again. This time I reached him and asked what was going on. He said he called around 10am to tell me he could not return until Friday, but he could not leave a message.

I am highly doubtful this is true as my cell phone is able to receive messages and no one else had trouble reaching me Thursday so I spent the entire day waiting in vain. I told Art whatever happens the refrigerator had to be finished by noon on Friday.

Friday I called Art at 8am to confirm his visit. Once again and without provocation, he exploded and was confrontational during the conversation. He said he knew of the time restraint and would be here.

As of now, it is 10:45 and no Art. Without a doubt this has been the worst experience I have had with a repairman. I would have rather bought a new refrigerator from a reputable store and pay twenty times the cost than to have gone through this.
