Be careful dealing with EMPIRE CARPET We asked to have a carpet installed by EMPIRE CARPET. The salesman came and we chose there "TOP OF THE LINE CARPET" Guaranteed not to "mat" and always look "thick" and "new" Well, we had these contractors come over who must pick lettuce
in the summer time and were filling in the winter putting carpet down.
When they arrived I tried to find the "markings" on the back of the carpet like the one that was on the sample we saw. There were no markings. We let them installed anyway after being reassured it was the smae carpet as we had picked out.
We have a ceramic foyer that leads into the living room. The 3 stooges that empire carpet had put our carpet down told us "it is not possible to ut "curves " in carpet to fit around the ceramic tile we had in the foyer. Then when it came to making a 90* turn to go into the hallway they "miscut" the carpet and there was a 1 " gap between the wall and the floor. We ahd EMPIRE send a crew back to try and fixed the "MISTAKES" made during the first install.
After 4 months the carpet looked the same as the one we had taken out and rplaced. We called Empire and they sent a "carpet expert" in. After looking at the carpet and having no answer for why the carpet looked worn, he asked for a white cloth, oh wet. I gave him what he asked for and he "rubbed" into the carpet in between the living room and kitchen. The cloth hardly had a spot on it but he tried to tell us we neded to have the carpet cleaned. This after 4 months... To summerize, EMPIRE CARPET BLEW US OFF, WE PAID $1800.00 FOR A CARPET THAT WAS PUT DOWN BY A "DAY CREW" AND YOU COULD BUY AT HOME DEPOT FOR $300.00
We are going to see if our CREDIT CARD company can help us but BUYER BEWARE!!! THE NICE "OLE MAN" THEY HAVE IN THERE COMMERCIALS is not the company you are going to deal with..
