The Select Comfort mattress is not for everyone. We bought the one with dual chambers and two controls. My husband loves his. I hate mine. What they don't tell you and you really don't know until you have had chance to try it out for awhile, is that the firmness setting one one side greatly influences the comfort on the other side. My husband has his set to about 35, and I prefer mine about 60. What is the result? It sags in the middle because his side is softer, and I am left hanging onto my side of the mattress in order not to roll into the crevice. The position you normally sleep in also effects the comfort. My husband sleeps on his back, and the Select Comfort seems to cradle him quite well.
I sleep on my right side and if I deflate my side to where it "might" be comfortable, I find quickly that it's not... Because it's an air mattress and it sags in the middle, so I am left with my feet and head higher than my body and bent in an uncomfortable position. So, I inflate it back to about 60 and continue clinging to the side of the bed. I have not had a good night's rest since we bought this stupid thing! Will we keep it? Probably. Like I said, my husband loves it, and he's the one that has to get up in the morning and go to work. I just wish Select Comfort had been a bit more up front about the pitfalls of their product.
