(Formerly Known As Sofas And Seats) ripoff, misleading, dishonest, bad business etiquette

Money spent: $3,325.25

I bought a 7 piece bedroom suit and computer armoire from the company listed above, on 2/1/06. Everything was a floor model (It mentioned AS IS ~ Doesn't this mean that something was wrong with the stuff to begin with?) but nothing was wrong with the merchandise until it was delivered), excluding the mirror and nightstand. Another customer ordered this set, but because it didn't fit in their apartment, they couldn't keep it. These items were in good condition. That is, until it was delivered to my residence on 2/11/06.

Two delivery boys (One was deaf) came on the date as stated, that's where the trouble began. They put a total of 6-7 holes in the walls.in the process, it scrapped off the finish, at the corner of the chester drawer. They showed absolutely NO remorse whatsoever, instead they said it was an accident and to not be upset. To prevent us from getting a contractor (Regarding the holes), they said they'd charge $50.00 for the lamps I wanted.instead of the retail price of $109.00.

My nightstand arrived broke. John, the owner said that if they don't report broken items. They get a discount. So, what happens to the broken furniture? This whole order was placed on 2/1/06, and he didn't place an order for a replacement of a new nightstand until I reminded him, on 2/13/06. And I've waited almost two weeks already.

The headboard on the bed, slips out of place, so does the piece on the side. John shoved a piece of paper into the board with an ink pen! I believe it made a mark. The bed also makes a cracking sound. I told his wife about the previous complaints on BBB and she said they were lying. She also said the bed didn't crack, but wasn't there at the house when it was. I told him and he ADMITTED that he wasn't sure if he or the main office did it, then turned around and claimed it was all like this in the store. So why offer to fix it or why not do so PRIOR to delivery? Before we finalized this purchase, I asked them if they had problems in the past about delivery. She said No. Me and my mother checked this stuff over before everything was brought to the house.

They claim they aren't even supposed to make repairs on AS IS items, but the things weren't like this to begin with. We go up there practically on a weekly basis. This is just upsetting, spending this kind of money and be ripped off. After today's visit, they said they weren't delivering the nightstand and that we'd have to pick it up ourselves and fix the scrape on the chester drawer and slipping of the headboard. She even said the delivery people didn't do any damage. Prior to that, she acknowledged it... You wouldn't offer to fix anything unless you were responsible.

Something needs to be done. I've been under so much stress and I don't need it, on top of my health problems. Too much money involved to have people take advantage of the elderly, as well as young women. Please help me, I just want what is fair, I feel I deserve justice. Thank-you.
