The transmission has been slipping so I took it into a reputable, well reviewed local business for diagnostics. After searching for all the simple low cost fixes, the diagnosis is it needs a rebuilt transmission costing $2,400 to $2,800. The car has been maintained properly and only has 66k miles on it. This feels wrong. I have owned many cars in my life and never had a transmission problem like this. I know it is out of warranty, but isn't there some GM responsibility for problems like this?
