Chevy Impala SS Transmission Troubles

My name is Brandy Nichole Rankin. My husband and I leased a new 2007 Chevy Impala SS from the Chevy dealership in Grapevine, Texas in 2007. We purchased the vehicle when our lease was up in 2011. We now live in a different state so our new Chevrolet dealership is in Branson, Missouri.in our Impala started "slipping" as we were driving so we took it to get it checked out. They said it needed a new transmission. We could not afford a new transmission and decided we would take it to the dealership and get it checked out. They, too, said it was the transmission and that it would cost $3500 (includes warranty) to fix. A car with (insert mileage) should not have to get a NEW transmission. I began checking the internet to make sure that there was not a recall and came across MANY people with the same problem! I want to buy American made cars but, I would NEVER trust getting another Chevy because their cars are NOT reliable. I, also, saw where there was a lawsuit against GM because of the fact that the tires wear down so quickly and we have had to change our tires many times over the years!
