My 2007 Chevrolet Impala SS has 70,000 miles (I am the only owner) on it and needs to have a NEW transmission! I began checking into possible recalls for my Impala and saw many disgruntled customers regarding the build of the car which causes the transmission to fail. DO NOT BUY the Impalas. I would go as far to say do not buy GM. I know I won't. If this is the life of a General Motors vehicle, I won't even consider buying from them. I wanted a reliable car, that I could trade in when I felt the time was right. Now, who would want it? Now I will have to put $3500 into it (includes warranty). I am, to say the least, a VERY dissatisfied customer. I would suggest the American car makers go back to the basics of QUALITY built vehicles! GM charges more for their vehicles compared to overseas models but it was worth it to me if I could buy a well built vehicle. Looks like American built cars are built worse than the overseas models. So I will end with STAY AWAY FROM GM!!
