My UPS driver is a liar. Last Monday I got home and found a UPS tag on my door saying the package wasn't delivered because a signature was required. I checked off the box to waive the signature and put the tag up on my door. My spouse stayed home all the next day and the UPS driver never came. Imagine my surprise when I got home Wednesday evening to find a tag on my door saying I had missed the third and final delivery attempt. I phoned the shipper and asked if the signature requirement could be waived and they told me they had no such requirement. I received a voice mail from the local delivery office saying I could pick up my package or have it delivered to another address. When I called to request it be sent to my office I was told it wasn't possible. I told them the shipper didn't have a signature request on the package and was informed that the DRIVER decided I needed to sign for it. My best guess is that the DRIVER likes to watch other people write since he can't read the tag well enough to see that I didn't feel the need to sign for the package and wanted it left at my door. I understand it is the holiday season and people are stressed and overworked and delivering packages in the snow sucks, but its your job - no one held a gun to your head and MADE you be a delivery driver for UPS. You chose that career, which means you chose to get out of the truck and walk up to my door and drop of my packages. If its inconvenient for you to do that you should get a new job.
