I cannot really complain about something i have never tried. I do, though just want to remind everyone that this new ipad, coming out in april, will not be able to be used as a laptop. It is basically a giant ipod touch. I really think it would be a wonderful idea if apple would have thought this out a little more and revolutionalized the laptop world. Just think, if they would have instead of concentrating on the app store, could have done something no other company has ever thought to do-make a small tablet, that is operated by a touch screen and create an economic, ergonomic wonder laptop. Really, this thing is just a giant ipod. It has the same features as an ipod. Im just trying to wonder why in the world would someone want a giant ipod? Wasn't the novel thing about ipods its small size? What is the point of making just a giant ipod? I was actually excited when i first heard about the ipad and the $500 price tag, and i thought, AWESOME! Apple has finally made a laptop unlike anyone else, and for the first time actually made an affordable laptop from apple! My balloon burst when i realized it's just a giant ipod. Yeah, im sure it has more memory, but u cannot install software. All u can do is get apps at the app store. It cannot be used like a laptop. U cant do ur work on it, it's just the same old, same old just giant.
I admit, i am NOT a fan of apple. Their computers and laptops are waaaaaaaaaay overpriced for no reason. They are difficult to use. Windows is a lot easier to use, whether u are used to a mac or not. The desktop from the getgo is more difficult. It takes extra commands to do anything on a mac. I have windows as an os. I refuse to spend an extra 1000 dollars to have a picture of an apple on the outside of my laptop (i'm putting my two cents in because everyone is ALWAYS putting down people who saved money and bought a laptop somewhere other than apple. Imagine that, people wanting to save money? I can't figure why, can you?). Apple mania has just taken over, and i can't understand why. The ipod is VERY difficult to use if u dont own a mac. I really hate working on a mac too, which i have no choice for some lab classes. So, i do base my icky feelings about apple from actually regular usage. I think everyone hates a mac the first time they use it, but i am no stranger to it. If i had a choice i would rather just bring my mini dell in, but im not going to make a scene over it, i'm just saying that yes, i regularly use a mac and i HATE it! Ive had many mp3 players as well, and the ipod is the least user friendly of all mp3 players ive ever used. My sister has one, and im always having to take a lot of time out of my day to fix whatever's going on with it. I really feel like apple is just a status symbol.
Also, people get so snobby like, 'OOOOOOH... U have a DELLL..." YES, i do not feel the need to spend unecessary money to have a label.
Apple really is only overpriced electronics. They are successful only because people in america will always be in love with labels.
My point is this - they will probably very quickly sell out, just so people can show the world that they have once again spent waaaaaay too much money to have the newest ipod gadget. The concept COULD have been there, but i guess i should have known that apple will never come out with an affordable laptop, but if they would have made a laptop like this, they could have done something really innovative rather than just make the ipod bigger. When outrageous profits come before innovation, there's a problem. There are so many competitors that sell computers and laptops for a fraction of the cost that does the same things as an apple, just easier. How can they stay in business in these times? I think people would rather own all apple than eat! Their phone, their mp3 players, their laptops, computers, and they come out with new versions too often! There are so many people i know that go into debt just to upgrade to the newest version of apple crap, when they already have phones, ipods, laptops etc. That work fine, but they couldn't bare the embarrassment of not having the newest apple! (i guess they would die of being mortified if they were me! LOL if it ain't cheap, im not buying it, that's my motto!)
I think it is a waste of money. And i really think that there is no reason to buy this other than to let everyone know how much money you've thrown away, which, just in my opinion, makes u look kind of stupid rather than super cool and intelligent.
Every time i see people showing off their phone, and when they say things like, 'oh THIS one was ONLY $500." i always proudly say 'man, i must've really hit the jackpot. THIS one i have was only a nickle!"
If u continue to blow ur money on basically crap that u can do without, in this economy u may wish u didn't spend that money tomorrow. After all the next day u could get laid off! It's better to save money if u have it, instead of spending needlessly. That, in my opinion, is all this overgrown ipod touch is-a waste of money!
I will continue to stick with my dell. And THIS one was ONLY $279 at dell.com! I did get the external drive for the extra $100, though. But it is very ergonomic, cheap, and very fast, and i can actually do work on it! I will say it: i'm a pc, and i saved so much money! I use windows, and that's ok! I waited for an amazing deal on a laptop, and i got it! It is okay to save money!
