I am very displeased with the recent updates to Apple's Ipod Classic firmware with the 1.0.3 and 1.1.1 releases. It seems that Apple has "cleverly" changed the firmware so that Ipod is no longer compatible with any third-party hardware without the use of an Apple A/V cable, rendering it completely ineffective for any third-party docking stations, such as the Phillips DCP750. This will very likely prove to be a marketing mistake on Apple's part. Take it from me - all this accomplishes is to make Apple look like a greedy and selfish company that only cares about making a profit, even if it is at the expense of its customers' satisfaction. I strongly advise Apple, with the next firmware update, to again allow the unlocking of the Ipod with third-party devices.
