Microsoft Poor Customer Service - Microsoft Surface

When first seeing adertisement for the new Surface I called Microsoft to find out how to pre-order - told to do so to get it in time for Christmas - I told them that when calling them. Then went on line to pre-order the Surface 64 and added protection for $850.00. On order form also specified it was for Christmas and included Merry Christmas note to recipient. Received it last week of October and put it away. It was opened on Christmas and found to be lacking - could not load certain apps so couldn't use as intended and wanted to return it. I called them on Dec 27 and was told only had 30 days from day of sale to return it. They also said I should have noticed the note at bottom of receipt to check and read their return policy that was printed on a different page. I never noticed the note, let alone thought to read a return policy as I have, for many years, ordered items early from Amazon, Sears, JCP, QVC, etc. And as long as I specified they were for Christmas, kept the item in good condtion, honest about reason to return, I NEVER, EVER had a problem and I have shopped early for many, many years. I am a retiree and now out the money, cannot afford to replace with a different item, and the recipient is out a gift. Microsoft does BAD BUSINESS!!!
