Dell customer service is terrible - Inspiron 530 desktop pc

I have not been able to download microsoft silverlight onto my ~2 year old computer making it impossible for me to log onto some of my work websites and now even netflix. I called Dell and first off the service agent from India answered in an unhappy tone and gruffly asked for a number that I had no idea what he was referring to. Setting the whole tone for the 30 min useless conversation.
I try to be a friendly person, but this guy was not making it easy. For what I expect would be a quick fix of them sending me some sort of update package the guy gave me two options an over the phone one time service for $150 to resolve the problem or a 1 year warranty extension for $415.
I pointed out that with this $ I could buy a new computer and he kept interrupting saying long winded sentences that led nowhere. When I told him that I simply wanted him to file a complaint he interrupted me once again and I finally hung up.
I swear that I will never buy another Dell product. It is not the first instant where they treat the customer (me) poorly and resolve nothing.
