I purchased a suite of GE Cafe kitchen appliances including a Cafe Advantium Micro Convection for my home in Center City Philadelphia. Thanksgiving was the first time I used the oven, and while pre-heating to 400 degrees to roast vegetables, the entire unit failed and became unresponsive. The GE repair person agreed that the installation was correct, the circuit breaker not flipped, and this was not a blown fuse. This brand new unit requires replacement of the Control Panel and Thermostat and Magnetron, and it was plainly defectively manufactured... I.E. A lemon. GE has flatly refused to replace this unit with a new and non-defective microwave. I am saddled with the costs of re-wall papering my kitchen because the microwave had to be removed, and the cost of re-installation —and will only have the equivalent of a refurbished machine if and when GE sends a person to repair it. This is TERRIBLE service.
