Went to this company (MASC) after another mechanic diagnosed a transmission leak (bad front end seal) in my 1994 Ranger.
Got it back with the leak still there. Went back five times before leak was finally fixed.
After second attempt, burning smell was noticed in truck. They claimed it was from heating a bolt so they could remove it. Took it home; leak still there.
After third attempt, took it home and transmission would not shift and brake light coming on. Leak still there.
After fourth attempt, they claimed I had a bad sensor that controls shift timing and a bad ABS sensor. Leak still there.
Finally after the fifth attempt they did manage to fix tha leak. However the transmission stilll wouldn't shift correctly.
I finally gave up and took it to a repair shop that specializes in transmission repair (what I should have done in the first place); fixed the shifting problem on the first
try.
It turned out that a part that MASC replaced was installed incorrectly and damaged. They also noticed that my left exhaust pipe is now attached to my exhaust manifold with a 'C' clamp.
The transmission still slips under hard acceleration. It can only be fixed by completely replacing the transmission.
Do not take your vehicle to McKinley Automotive Service Center!!!
