AAMCO Transmissions Fridley rebuilt my transmission at a cost of over $2000 dollars. The transmission pan had such a bad leak that the mechanic changing my motor oil 2 weeks later said I should sue them for their extremely bad work. There was a stream of transmission fluid leaking around the cork seal. I went back to AAMCO to tell them to seal the leaky pan & I was told that the cork seal is all that is required so I would have to live with a leaky transmission.
Finally I complained to the Better Business Bureau and the Minnesota Attorney General and then got a call from AAMCO to go back to any AAMCO and have the leak fixed. I was told that a new pan was put on by the transmission mechanic at the West St Paul, Minnesota store but I can see that it does not look new at all. They did reduce the leak by about 50 percent by using some kind of gasket sealant.
I still have a leaky transmission pan that leaves puddles in my driveway. The transmission makes noises when I first start up on colder mornings. I feel the mechanical work of the rebuild was good but they were completely careless about properly sealing the transmission pan that leaked badly. And the AAMCO Fridley, Minnesota store refused to admit any wrong-doing. I suppose I could try and sue but without an attorney I probably would not get very far. And I really have no clue how to do a lawsuit.
