Liem Nguyen If it's not broken, don't fix it!

A friend recommended this auto shop. She told me that she has been going to them for years and has had no problems with them. Around the month of April we went there to have my 2002 Nissan Xterra's oil changed. I inquired of other patrons their relationship with Asia and was told either it was their first time or that it was a good place for car repairs.in the midst of having my oil changed the mechanic called me out to the repair area and informed me that there were several issues wrong with my vehicle that needed attention.

He told me that there was something wrong with my oil and it was leaking on the motor which would cost almost $1200, air conditioning problem cost of $400 and total brake problem cost of $200.00 (I inquired if the cost would include everything concerning the brakes and they assured me that it would).

May of I needed to go out of town for a family issue so I took my vehicle over to Asia Auto Care and paid them $600 (from my debit card) to fix air conditioning and brakes. I rented a vehicle to head out of town. They called while I was on the road and informed me that they had fixed the air conditioning but it would be another $80 for the brakes as they had to replace the rotors. I reminded them what they had told me about the brakes and that the rotors had been discussed. We went back and forth with this; they decreased the amount by $20 but I did not relent. I finally told them to put the vehicle back together and I will do the brakes at another time.

They told me that they had already fixed the air conditioning and I told them okay, I would pay for that. When I got back into town I went directly to pick up my vehicle and found that only 1 of the 4 settings was working. I was informed that the A/C repair guy had left for the day and to bring the vehicle back the following Monday.

I took my vehicle back, they had the guy look at it and he told me that I only needed one setting and they were not going to do anything about it. I discussed back and forth with them about this, they stood firm and I left.

I called back a few days later and was told to bring the car back in. I took the vehicle back in several days later as my working hours would not permit anytime earlier. When I did take it back they again told me that they were not going to spend anymore time on my vehicle.

I had another repair location to have my brakes/rotor repair which cost about 1/2 of what they were charging me and was told that it may be a relay switch on my air conditioning but they wouldn't know until they took my vehicle apart.

I have been putting anti-freeze into my vehicle and trying other means to resolve my problem, with no success. I have to turn the setting to the highest (4) in order for the air to blow but it only blows cold approximately a minute when first turned on and then it's hot air blowing. It is very hot here in Houston, TX and with some medical issues that I deal with, it's causing me some serious issues. I was told on numerous occasions by friends not to take my vehicle back there because it would incur even more problems.

I am very hesitant about taking my vehicle back to Asia for repairs and don't have the finances to pay someone else to fix it, especially when I was not having any problems with my air conditioning prior to Asia. I really need my air conditioning fixed and don't fee that I should have to pay any additional monies or go someplace else to have this resolved. I just want it done the right way.
