I brought my vehicle in for a brake job, I knew that I probably needed new rotors and pads. But after their so-called inspection, I was told that I needed the calipers rebuilt, rear wheel cylinders replaced and rear shoes.
The repair estimate was $699, I told them that I have had major brake jobs in the past and the cost was never higher than $300. They began to tell me that those brake jobs were not done correctly and that's why they were so cheap.
I told them I wanted to get a second opinion, then they tried to convince me to do a patch job (replacing the pads and shoes only, no machine work) for $440 because my vehicle was a hazard and shouldn't be driven.
I told them to put the wheel back on my car and after signing a document stating that Just Brakes was not responsible if I had an accident, I drove to Midas.
Midas told me that I only needed rotors, pads, shoes and resurfaced the drums and completed the job for $339. Just Brakes prey on peoples fears about the safety of their vehicle to get them to accept the high cost of the unnecessary repairs.
