Ripoff rude warranty? Service? Vti transmission is bad but not replaced engine light is on popping and grinding noise i bought a lemon!

I would like to warn any future Saturn buyers about my car expierence. I bought a NEW Saturn ION 2CPE. It ran well for about 1200 miles.

I noticed a grinding and popping noise at slow speeds and especially while turning the car. When I took it in for service (that was under warranty) the problem was detected. The VTI transmission was found to be bad.

To fix this problem (the bad transmission) the service tech., Todd, ordered parts a new cover, core cover, hose, additive, fluid filter and a seal. Now to me this does not fix the problem just covers it up and makes it sound better.

At the time of service we also complained about the tires being worn excessively... They stated this was because we did not rotate the tires (we did, just not at the Saturn shop) and they would do nothing about the tires. We asked could it be the bad tranny, pulling it out of line causing the wear on the tires. No.

They did have to preform an alignment however.
At @ 25,000 miles my Saturn does not run as it used to. When I pull out in traffic, I don't go. Sometimes I do, I just cross my fingers and hope my car doesn't hesitate to the point that I am scared. I take it in to be looked at after the last incident occured... I pulled out in traffic to get on the highway, and almost got hit.

The tech., James told my husband that they don't get paid to find the problem just to fix it and he don't find a problem with my car. My husband took it back, made the manager ride with him, no problem duplicated.

I call customer service. They stated this is the way the transmission was designed to run!!! What? This is the same transmission that is documented to be found bad!!!

I can get no one to fix my problem with this car and it is a safety issue with me. I am scared to drive the new car I bought!

I am persistant and I did call another manager as well as letting the salesman who sold me this car drive it. Both people said the car has problems but since the service department can't duplicate the problem it does not get fixed. GREAT WARRANTY HUH?

Today my husband drove the car home, it went 10 miles per hour up a small hill and the engine light is on. These are just a few problems, the ones I am angry about... Not to mention the tires, headliner that fell down or the back door that fell off (that still isn't fixed because the new parts that were ordered came in broken)

I bought a new car so that these problems would be a thing of the past. I bought a new car from Saturn because I liked the car and they were known for great customer service. I havent seen the good service yet. I was not even offered a service loaner vehicle while mine was in the shop I was told oh well should have bought the extended warranty...

I didn't wan't a new car and I just asked that mine was fixed. They "can't fix a problem they can't duplicate" and this "transmission is designed to run like this." I wish someone had told me that before I bought the car. I would have ran out of the dealership. So, Don't believe the hype, Saturn does not stand by their cars, warranties or customers.
