Saturn Of Mesquite
Transmission, Saturn Vue Band Aid over Replacement

I purchased a O3 Saturn Vue purchased with 48555 miles from your facility March 27. March 20,07 I took to a independent Transmission Mechanic due to Transmission going out. I was told he could not do a thing to it because of a recall. I then took to Saturn of Mesquite on March 21 assuming that they were going to take care of problem.
Service Invoice reads:
Customer states veh will not shift gears properly found code PO606 in TCm followed Doc# 1200876 to Check fluid after fluid check found trans a little low on flushed trans and put in additive.

March 26 took back to dealership.
Service Invoice reads:
Cust states hearing a noise coming from under the hood. Found vehicle to be extremely noisy with intermittent no gear operation. Followed bulleting # 04-07-30-24E to replace case cover, filter and torque converter. After completing bulletin, test drove vehicle. Pulled hard to the left, aligned vehicle, all is fine. The cover assembly, variable drive and driven pulley a repaired.

At this time I assumed the transmission had been replaced.

June 4 car back to Saturn
Service Invoice reads:
Customer states vehicle slipping, light is on. Tech says no light is on and found veh driving and shifting per design.
March 09, received call about Class Action Law Suit
over this same Transmission.

Went back in summer 09, slipping once again, after 5 days they could not find a problem but car was fine.

November received letter from Saturn (after class action lawsuit) about reimbursement related to recalled transmission. I up until then had never received a letter letting us know there was a recall.

February 9 car towed to Saturn, I was told transmission has to be REPLACED I thought that was what they did in 07. Contacted Saturn support to be turned over to GM employee. He contact me on Feb. 22,10 to advise me he was working on problem. Saturn employee informed me on the 25th that the solution was Saturn was giving me a real steal of a deal, and I would get a new transmission if I hand over $2500.00. After missed call on 25th I was contacted on the 26th by GM to let me know the same thing. I informed him that would not work, and he knew what the outcome was going to be on Feb. 22nd. If I had used my extended warranty contract in 07, I would not be looking at a $2500.00 out of pocket bill, and I would have had a new transmission, that had not been recalled.
Wrote letter to owner of dealership to be contacted March 3rd that they would only be able to help by splitting the new GM transmission $2500.00 each way. They put a band aid on the problem, and would
not morally handle the problem. I asked if they could put it in writing that I was getting a new transmission that was not recalled. After 4 minutes I was told it would be the same transmission, just a new one out of stock.
I opted to go to a Transmission Shop for a rebuilt one that is not on recall.
No wonder dealerships are closing up all over town.
