On 8/10 at around noon time, my 18 wheeler truck broke down at the intersection of U.S. Highway 130 and Dey Road in Cranbury, New Jersey. I immediately called for a tow. Estimated time of arrival was 45 min to an hour (that is 12:45-1pm). I put my triangles out behind my vehicle and traffic was flowing smoothly on both sides of my vehicle. About 20 minutes later, a Streets Department worker pulled up. I thought to offer some assistance but I was wrong.instead he asked how long I was going to be there and said I needed to move because I was blocking traffic. I responded that a tow truck was in route and that the estimated time arrival at that time was 20 to 30 minutes.
He then told me that was too long and called the local police department. When the police pulled up five minutes later, they asked the same question as the street department worker, How long? I responded 20 to 30 minutes.
