Maury V. Powell - King Street Auto Sales
Ripoff fraud stolen vehicles fraud in virginia car theft identity theft con-artists in virginia beware of the virginia thieves con-artists revealed frauds revealed & Hampton

In March of this year-I helped one Maury V. Powell (if that is indeed his name) purchase a vehicle from King Street Auto Sales In Hampton, VA. The car was approximately $8500 and I agreed to let Mr. Powell put the vehicle in my name because he stated that he did not have a VA license. He was supposed to get his license the next week, but... After a series of mishaps ah i... He was not in the VA DMV SYSTEM because he had been out of the state for over 5 years, so they made him wait a month. I'm sure he didn't know this, he also neglected to tell me that he had a license in another state-that he could never find, and that had tickets associated with it.

So, when the DMV needed proof, he scorned me for wanting to call DECATUR, GA. To try to obatin proof from their DMV. (clue #1). Anyway after being given the run around, and waiting for a month with the car in my name, I was fed up with excuses and wanted to go to the DMV with him to change it over. Then ofcourse he had 12 million other excuses and KING STREET AUTO SALES, which had initially agreed to the transfer of title once he got his license was damn near non-existent with the paperwork and is still giving me the run around to this minute. It still hasn't been submitted. You see, Mr. Powell initiated the deal with King Street and they deal with him alot more then me. It seems like I'm in a middle of a fraud case and I'm wondering? Is the felony for car theft that is on Mr. Powell's record a dead ringer warning sign?

He said that he had one and then told me a bogus reason why it was there. And like a fool I believed him. I am now taking Mr. Powell to court because he will not return the vehicle and refuses to change it over into his name. It has been over 6 months! I can't file a "stolen vehicle report"-atleast according to VA because we had a verbal agreement. But that seems unusual under these circumstances. I have also filed a report with the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board in Virginia about the ridiculous run around with King Street Auto Sales.

The scam I guess is to put cars in individual's names that either can't or won't make the payment. Give the person the run around until they get tired, while the other party "joy rides" in their car. And then reposess the vehicle, leaving the other party holding the tab. I wouldn't so suspicious if the dealer had not given over 3 different stories and at one point, I had to hand the phone to the lady at DMV for her to speak with him directly because he had given me completely different information than what the law stated. And they have no legitimate excuse for not submitting the paperwork to DMV at this point after stalling ofr over 2 months to add Mr. Powell to the car title. He had responsibility for the vehicle wahtsoever and could drive it over a cliff if he wanted and I would owe them the remaining balance. Approximately $3600. I wonder again if the felony on his record says that the person Mr. Powell did this to before was stupid or the person that he's doing it to now is stupid. It's popular in Virginia to disrespect women and often times, it seems legal. I can only hope that the judge that hears the case is fair and I can receive some justice. Although, I know better than to believe that it will ever get me an respect. It's time for it to stop.
