Like so many others, I got tricked into the Diamond Advantage Plan when I thought I was buying my Eclipse. Three months before the contract is up I find out I'm gonna have to refinance and pay over $10,000 more than the price of the car, or give it back after paying almost $20,000, and still have to pay for mileage and wear and tear.
I never got a copy of the contract, and was never shown the contract for that matter, because I would have never agreed to it. I don't know how they got my signature on it. Also, as if it wasn't bad enough that they've ruined my livelihood for the next few years just to make a dollar that's long gone, the salesman I spoke with at the tent sale was rude and brushed off everything I said and made dumb excuses. He insulted me by saying lots of people sign up for the balloon payment because they cannot afford the car otherwise. He also threatened me, totally unprovoked, by saying that if I signed the contract, even if I was lied to, it would never hold up in court, and if I didn't follow through my credit would be ruined. I don't know how these people sleep at night.
