Safelight came out to fix a tiny chip in my windshield and ended up causing a big crack. The cost to fix the chip was only going to be $60, which was covered by insurance. However, after they damaged the windshield, the cost to repair came to $331 and then they tried to file an insurance claim on my behalf. When I complained that they caused the damage and should be responsible, I was told that there is a less than 1% chance of making the crack bigger and they are not responsible for extra damage caused by their techs. Big surprise to me since I was not asked to sign any waver before they started to ruin the windshield. Then, I was offered $75 off the $331 repair... But keep in mind that they already recieved $60 in payment to fix the crack, so that's not much of an offer. I believe this is a scam to get more money from insurance companies - why would they send a tech out for $60 when they can cause more damage and get $331 additional? That means that they would make almost $400 from insurance claims on a tiny little crack.
