Last month I was trying to restore the windshield on my mustang, ended up cracking the windshield. Fine. Ok. I called safelite because they have a mobile service, they said they had my windshield and everything was great I scheduled an appointment and waited. Hours later they call me and say they don't have it in stock, so I ask them to send a tech out to look at it and maybe fix the crack.
The tech had an early morning appointment which ended up being at the end of the day, wasting my workday. He attempted to fix the crack which was nice, and he also called the warehouse, then stated that they had the windshield, but to replace it I needed to buy the chrome retaining clips first. I ordered those and called to reschedule the appointment. A few hours after doing so, I got a call saying they didn't have the part and would have to buy it myself.
I got quoted about 100 dollars for installation, and if they had the glass (originally) about 250-275 total for installation plus glass.
I had to order the part custom online which cost me 345 dollars (including shipping) then I call them back and get quoted 150 for installation.
I then call the main branch (337-392-0328) in the area and get told that they might not be able to guarantee lifetime because it's not their glass. Seconds after that, they are able to find the part on their computer.
I'm pissed off and tired of these games.
