When she pulled up and started to conversate with the jiffy lube employee about which grade of oil to use, another guy started to scour her front windshield for knicks. He pointed out 4 tiny, tiny scuffs and one tiny pebble sized crack and told her she'd need to have that replaced and he could do it for a discount. Not knowing that it costs $10 to get a kit to repair all of the damn pea sized cracks you could ever think of on a windshield instead of paying $50 for some little slimeball to put it on, she agreed.
The little midget didn't even fix the windshield. The largest pea sized crack was still a pea sized crack, but now it has a little sealant stuck in it. The next trick is this: you're supposed to bring it to your auto insurance and they'll replace the glass since it's not leaking. However, this raises your premium over 30% in the long runat the insurance company anyways. If you ever needed to repair your windshield, you should never use a claim with your insurance. The costs for the premium in the long run is much greater than the initial free filing of a claim; and equal to buying and installing a new windshield altogether.
So basically: preventive windshield repair is not necessary. Just buy a tube of sealant for 1/5 of the price. Seawater glass is scamming at this jiffy lube in irvine, ca 3080 main.
