Refused to honor warranty on a factory built oil leaking engine with less than 1000 miles on it

Less than 1,000 miles on this engine, and after paying $2,000 for the engine, I noticed an oil leak on the floor of my garage. I took it to a well respect mechanic (that has been in business for 25 years) to check it out. He told me that oil leaks were difficult to pin point and there was oil all over the undercarriage. He cleaned off all the oil off where the timing chain cover and the oil pan meet and told me to drive it until I saw the FIRST drop of oil was visible then bring it back ASAP. I spoke with Mark from ATK and was givin a claim # 258909., and was instructed to put oil dye in the vehicle. I put 2 bottles (enough to cover 8 qts of oil) and drove it for 75 miles. I saw the oil leak from the exact same spot and took it back to mechanic and it was indeed from the exact spot they suspected. I authorized the repairs, Mark told me to save the gaskets and the old parts to ship back to ATK.

After repairs were complete I shipped parts back to ATK via UPS. Waited several days and then I called on 2-21. Was told by a lady that they just recieved it today, on 2-21. My UPS tracking number shows it was recieved and signed for by Kay at 11:29 am by Kay on 2-14. This was the first lie. I recieved a call on 2-22 by ATK and I was informed that they (ATK) found no fault of theirs. Now, this engine's oil pan and timing chain cover came delivery, sealed from the factory. After only less than 1,000 miles it leaked. They refuse to pay off on their warranty. I find it awfully strange, that before I took it to the mechanic, it leaked all over my garage floor and driveway, after the mechanic replaced the timing chain cover and the oil pan gaskets, the leak stopped. According to ATK, it must have been a MIRACLE, because they were not at fault and refused to pay off on faulty workmanship. I should have listened to the mechanic in the first place, and went with a quality product like Jasper.

I am getting my paperwork in order as well as pictures of the leak, oil pan (that was overtightened), timing cover and seeking small claims court satisfaction.
