In April, 11, we brought the car into Midas at 2654 W Fullerton to check our breaks as they were making noise. We needed new breaks, front rotors and our calipers cleaned.
A couple of months later we brought the car back in. The breaks were making noise again and there were other noises which included what sounded like a whirring down or unwinding when the car slowed to a stop.
We also asked them to check the suspension, as Midas also replaced the shocks, struts and tires a couple of years ago, still under warranty.
They re-examined the car and said we needed both lower front control arms replaced for $850.
Shocks, struts were fine.
That week, brought the car into a long-known mechanic for a second opinion.
Control arms were fine - Midas was wrong.
There was a rotor "out of round" and too much run out on the rotor. The caliper was not working properly as a result.
They missed the fact that there was a rear broker spring and that the right rear tire was about to explode as the steel belts were breaking trough as a result of the broken spring.
That week we decided to get rid of the car.
I went to Midas for restitution, requesting 1/2 of the break job returned to me to settle the matter; since they completely blew it.
The refused after many phone calls. They did want to see the car to try to correct it. It was already impossible and I would not have trusted them anyway.
They did put our lives in danger.
I would never go back to a Midas.
