I took my car to Midas on March 29th for the PA inspection (big mistake). Midas called me about 3 hours after i dropped it off only to tell me it "failed" inspection because it needed $1400 in repairs! They said i needed a catalytic converter, new rear struts, and an engine mount.
I was shocked to hear that my car was alledgedly in such bad condition, concidering that i was not experiencing any problems. So i refused to fix the "problems" and i left with my car. While i am driving away i notice a wierd clanking noise coming from the rear passenger wheel when i brake and the car is shaking. So i decide to take the car to another mechanic to get a second oppinion. I told him all the things that Midas told me was wrong with the car. He looked the car over and said that nothing was wrong with it. Everything Midas has told me was a lie, my car was in good condition.
He also informed me that the wierd clanking noise that had magically appeared after leaving Midas was because they did not put all the parts back correctly from the wheel when they were inspecting the car, they did not tighten all the lug nuts either. Midas also informed me that i needed to replace a cable to the transmission, the second mechanic also noticed that the cable to the transmission was loose, it just needed to be tightened!
I will never go to Midas ever again! Beware!
