My catalytic convertor was main noise, so I knew it had to be replaced. Unforturatly I had to bring it to Midas, because no one else carried this particular convertor. Went to Midas they looked at it, not only was the cat bad, but I needed new shocks, struts, muffler system. Totaling around $900.00 dollars. I refused the repairs except the Catalytic Convertor.
Went back a few times for something rattling under the car it turns out to be the catalytic convertor. Midas had told me also that it was my muffler system making the noise. I soon decided to get the muffler system replaced. I went to my local Auto Dealership, and the technician told me that Midas had ruined my exhaust system... They had cut my front pipe (stainless steal) to weld in the catalytic convertor on, and welded in my oxygen sensors in the system and also informed me that the catalytic convertor was not working properly. Causing about $984.00 dollars worth of damage.
So the third time went back to Midas and complained to the OWNER... He suggested that I come in to have them examine the work. Midas replaced one oxygen sensor, replaced the catalytic convertor, and threw in the new muffler system. One year later my check engin light comes on. I took it to a local garage, they told me my Catalytic Convertor is not fuctioning properly, and the oxygen sensor is sending the error check engin code. So now I'm up to 3 times back for the same problem. I refuse to have Midas install anymore parts on my car, and or ruin my car any further. Midas refuses to pay for damages caused by them.
I have reported them to our local DMV Dealers & Repaires, and they can't do anything about it. Since this I have put $249.00 dollars for 2 new oxygen sensors and the list has just started. Small Claims Court is next.
