CDWS Refuses to pay for air conditioner compressor that is a covered component

I purchased a 5 yr. Extended warranty for $1900 in Oct. 2009 on my 2004 Mercury Sable.

I recently travelled from my home in Arizona to Indiana. My air conditioner quit working so I e-mailed CDWS and told them the problem and took the car to a Ford dealer. The dealer filled out an on-line report with the estimate for the repairs for $1100. They faxed back and said that the repairs could not begin until they approve the repairs and they will not approve it until they receive hardcopy maintenance reports. I e-mailed them and explained that the reports were at my home in Arizona and would fax them when I got home.

There response was a fax back to the repair shop on a Monday that if they didn't have the reports by Wednesday the case was closed.

I paid to have the repairs done so I could get back to Arizona. When I got home I faxed the reports they wanted and received an e-mail that because the car was repaired without their approval they were denying the charges.

They absolutely will not talk to anyone on the phone. All correspondance has to be in writing. If you check them out on the internet there are hundreds of complaints against them. I doubt that they have ever paid off on a claim. Nothing but a bunch of con artists. I am stuck with a $1900 warranty that is worthless and a $1100 repair job.
