Phil Long Ford of Denver
Rip off

September my husband found a truck online and he fell in love with it. We drove from Fort Carson, Co to Denver that same day and my husband purchased the truck. The truck we bought was a 2006 F-250 turbo with a lift kit and about 12,000 miles on it. It was still under factory warranty and we also purchased the extended warranty for a few thousand $. The lift kit on the truck was a little high so my husband specifically asked the salesman if that voids the warranty in any way and the salesman said "No, it did not void the warranty" after all they were the guys pushing us to purchase the extended warranty. NOTE: The gentleman who originall purchased the truck from Phil Long Ford had them install the lift kit on the truck before he drove it off the lot, so it wasnt as if the guy took the truck to some back yard mechanic.

Anyway, my husband for the truck he had always wanted and everything was great. Having the extended warranty is a great peice of mind because you never know. About a year and a half later we took the camper up into the mountains and went camping for the 4th of July. On the way home half way down the rocky mountains here in Colorado the drive shaft went out. We finally got the truck, the kids and the camper home safetly and my husband called phil long ford so we could take the truck in and get it fixed. "Sure" they said "Bring it in so we can have a look at it". My husband took the day off and drove the 2 hour drive to the dealership thinking this would be quick and easy, we would pay the $100 deductable and get the truck fixed, right?

Wrong, the service shop had it for a little while and came out and politly told us that the problems on the truck were due to having the lift kit and that having the lift kit on the truck voided the warranty. Are you kidding me?! My husband furious came home and called the warranty company and they said the same thing but they would be happy to refund the amount of the the extended warranty back to the finance company. That was mighty nice of them but now we were stuck with a truck that needed afew thousand dollars worth of work that we couldnt afford to pay for and not only that we don't have an extended warranty on our vehicle anymore so if anything else goes wrong then it was all out of pocket.

It's been a few years and we should of contacted an attorney when it happened but my husband was just so frustrated and he was getting ready to leave for Afghanistan for a year with the Army and he just didnt have the time to deal with it with all the training he was in the middle of. The year he was gone the truck sat in the driveway so we didnt think about it much. He's been home for almost a year now, the truck only has 42,000 miles on it and for a diesel engine that's almost brand new. Last week we had some more issues on the truck and it was a $780 bill that we had to pay out of pocket. Its a beautiful truck but because of phil long ford's deceiving practices it's just nickel and diming us to death.

It's very sad that a United States Soldier can't go in and purchase a vehicle without being lied to or deceived just so that this company could make a sale. I suppose those are some of the freedoms he is fighting for. This was the 3rd vehicle that we had purchased from Phil Long Ford, two of them were Phil Long Ford in Colorado Springs. But it will be the last time we ever purchase from them and every new soldier that we meet that comes to this army base and asks around about a car dealership we will be the ones making sure they stay far far away from Phil Long Ford.

To anyone who lives in the Colorado Springs / Denver area. If you ever deal with this company get EVERYTHING put in writing and signed by a manager.
