Well, it might seem like a long time since the ocurrence but I just found out. Purchased used dodge pickup in 1995. Credit dept at dealership sold me an extended warranty for about 2500.00. This warranty was only going to cover me for 3 yrs and some many miles. Well the transmission went out just prior to the warranty expiring. Took the truck to dodge for the work to be done. Dodge said they were going to cover the entire bill for repairs because the truck originaly came with a 7 year 70 thousand mile warranty. So the Ford warranty only paid after the Dodge warranty. Dodge warranty covers everything, So there is no need for additional coverage. Kudos to Chrysler for there warranty and for honoring a second owner on the original warranty.
Basically, paid 2500.00 for a warranty that will never be collected on, because the original warranty, covers more for longer. Add warranty expired before original. Dealer knows that the basic warranty is better than what they sell, but they want the money. Too long ago to sue. Dont do business there. Go to Dodge.
After looking at all the complaints of extended warranties, its a wonder they are allowed to sell them.
