I was assisting my 88 year old mother-in-law to lease a car from this GM dealership. After successfully agreeing to terms within her budget and shaking hands to seal the deal; we wrote a check for the first month's lease, tax, title, and license fees, plus the due at signing amount. All that was left to do is for her to "sign a few papers". Since my wife just recently got out of the hospital, I left this elderly lady in the unscrupulous hands of the financial guys (my bad); so I could attend to my bed-ridden wife. An hour later, my mother-in-law called to inform me that they will only let her have the car if she paid an additional $1246 and reduce the months of the lease from 39 months to 36 months. This 88 year old lady wasted four hours of her day before I loudly rescued her from this unethical treatment. Freedom Chevrolet's word and their handshakes were worthless to us.
