Mayfair Car Connection - Cars-n-Credit
Ripoff Bill Wilmot, Bruce, Lisa willl not give us title and bill of sale for paid car, and temporary registration will expire

We bought a '96 Nissan Sentra on 22Nov'03 from
Cars-n-Credit
610 MacDade Blvd. COLLINGDALE PA
610-532-3200
Salesman name: Mr Bill Wilmot

We picked up the car on 22Nov'03 and was told that the title will be sent within 7days. And that we must register by 22Dec03. (date of expiration of temporary plates and registratioin). We got temporary Pensylvania plates number 0643593. We got a copy of the bill of sale with my daughter's name only. (2 days later I called and asked to change to both mine and my daughter's name.
Bill said that there is no problem) We were told that the title will be
sent
by
MAYFAIR CAR CONNECTION
6825 frankford ave
Tel 215-333-3003

As of today we did not receive the title and the bill of sale in my name Juana (myself) and Rosanna O. Daughter). We are calling them everyday, and the response is as follows.

1) sent by UPS First priority (Bruce). He said that he only helps answering phone calls for Bill, but Bill said that the Bruce is in charge of this car. They continue to go back and forth like this, pretending that they are
not responsible and are only working for the other. However, it is obvious that they are all involved in this sale.

2) First Lisa said she sent by UPS then she said she sent by regular mail.

3) promised by 15DEC. (Bill)

4) promised by 16Dec and so on.

5) yesterday I was told to wait until tomorrow because title (without bill of sale) was sent by regular mail on monday. (Lisa)

6) They grew extremely disrespectful and rude. At one point, Bill began mocking me and saying that, "What do you want me to do? Oh, do you want me to fire Lisa for you? Okay." and saying that he could even come over to my house and cook dinner for me as if I was asking for much. He continues to insist that the paperwork takes long because of the change in names, but they do not need to repeatedly tell lies over and over and over to customers and being so rude.

7) my daughter (21yrs old) is also calling. Today she called and Bill answered the phone. My daughter asked to send 30days extention of temporary plate as was instructed by NY DMV. Bill said he can, but he is not going to do because the car he sold to us is not his. And that if we do not get the title he is promising us everyday by Monday 22Dec. He said, he can not do anything. He even said that they should have sent it earlier as if he had nothing to do with it.

However, we know that he does have something to do with the car because at the time of purchase, he was able to change prices for us and deal with us as his customers. They put us on hold for every phone conversation we had for about 5 to ten minutes at a time and would never speak to us for more than 5 minutes at a time either. My daughter is trying to be very nice to Bill, so he can be cooperative, but when he said he can not send the extension of the plate, she started crying.

8) When I called the Mayfair place, Bruce picked up the telephone and pretended that he was an electrician, took some time to make up that his name was "Jimmy" and when asked what the name of the owner was, he said mockingly,
"You know what? His name is Jimmy too." He knew immediately who it was and said right away that Lisa was not there. He is mocking and rude and puts me on hold
or just avoids talking by lying and getting off of the phone as quickly as possible.

We called the credit card to to ask if we can get charged back, to get the money back, but we were told that unless we return the car, we cannot request the charge back.

My daughter is a student, and I do not want her to go through this mess, she is taking her finals and studying very hard.

If I do not get the title by 22Dec.
What do we have to do?
Please help. Thank you

I would like compensation also for:
- the numerous phone calls that I had to make from New York to Pennsylvania ($10)
- 3 vacation days from work to receive the documents from UPS or Fedex or regular mail, who knows anymore ($240)
-cost of sending information to Rip-off Revenge ($21.95)
Total: ($271.95)
