I had my 1997 Ford Excursion in for a front wheel alignment in July and they made an adjustment to the left front side.
In October I brought the trunk back for a set of 4 tires to be mounted and balanced. Part of the mounting & balancing was a 12 point inspection including a front end check.
One Week (7 days) after having the tires installed the left inner Tie Rod End breaks while driving down Route I-95 in Connecticut and I lost steering.
Lucky I was able to get the truck to the side of the road without being hit or hitting something.
I called the service Dept and was told that ties rods can just break without warning. I then call Corp. Office to report this and logged a compaint and was told a manager will call me back.
After 30 days and several unreturned messages I haven't heard from anyone
I entrusted my truck to them for service and check that it is safe and thay let me drive out with a trunk that could have killed me and anyone on the road when the steering let loose
