Approximatley 2 weeks ago, my wife in I were interested in purchasing a Ford F-250 super duty 4x4 powerstroke. I contacted Earnhardt ford Tempe, Az. And told them what I was looking for they asked that I come down and look at their inventory.
My wife and I met with a salesman named Jack he showed us the inventory. After about 1 hour we picked out the vehicle we wanted and went in to discuss financing. We had a trade in to go along with this deal. We purchased in March a 2000 nissan pick up from Earnhardts Mr. Ed Program and we wanted to upgrade and get out of this truck it was too small for our needs.
When we sat down with the finance dept. We found out we were extremely upside down on our nissan like about 11000.00 upside down. The vehicle is worth 8500.00 and we owed over 11000.00 and alls they wanted to give us was 4500.00 for this great deal they sold us in March.
In addition to their crazy buy out of our nissan they wanted an additional 5000.00 down and payments of 1000.00 per month for 72 months. We said no way
see ya.
1 week later we received from Jack our salesman a call asking us if we were still interested in the Ford F-250 I said yes but Im not paying their crazy price. He then informed me that the finance dept. Sharpened their pencil and we could come down and get the truck. The deal being 2500.00 down and 800.00 a month for 60 monthes. I told my wife she said lets do it.
That night on a friday, we drove across town went inside to find out the truck we picked out 1 week earlier was gone but they had a different color. We drove it and said ok. We went inside to finance, they worked up the contract, they were to pay off old loan on nissan. We paid 2500.00 cash along with 3000.00 in rebates and we belong to the Ford X-Plan with takes off an additional 4500.00 from the MSRP. We signed the paperwork
they handed us the keys and we were on our way at 10:30 PM on a friday night.
On that Monday we received a call from Jack and he said they couldn't get us financed at that amount and we need to bring in the truck. My wife was furious and asked to speak to the manager in finance, but of course Jeff had gone home for the day.
The next morning I began calling for this Jeff and he would not return my calls, So I asked for someone else in finance and they gave me to Bill. I told him that they have a real crappy way of doing business. He then told me don't do anything; we will look over contract and adjust figures to make it work. This was on Tuesday I continued to call and leave messages for anyone that would talk to me and I of course got voice mails and I left messages.
The following Monday Dec. 1 I received a call from John Allen he wanted to know why I havent brought in the F-250. I told him why because the last thing I was told was dont worry we will adjust figures and take care of this. He then tells me yeah we can but we want another 5000.00 down to work this deal I told him there is know deal and they he says well we can down size you in another type of truck. I told him no this truck or no deal. I told him that I will bring in the Truck later that evening, and I wanted my Nissan to be brought up for me to pickup, An hour later he called me back and said can you not come tonight but come in Tuesday Night about 7:30 pm we are working another deal.
I have had with this dealership. Why didn't they just leave me alone the first time why did they call back and say they can do the deal and then 1 week later want more money, and screw with me all over again. I'll tell you what come Tuesday at 7:30Pm Earnhardt Ford in Tempe is going to get there F-250 back and my business will go elswhere. They screwed me the first time on my nissan they will not screw me on the F-250.
Anyone who has gone through Earnhardts or thinking of buying trust me think twice go somewhere else its not worth it.
