I was instructed by a loan officer to pay a certain amount. He intructed me to cut a check and on the back of the check I was to put the words "Cashing at bank Constitutes account paid in full." I did all that was told to me to do. I sent the check and it was cashed. After a year had passed I received a letter from a credit insitute to retrieve the money that I owed.
I called the institute and was instructed to fax a copy of the check to a Dee Smith reference #923340 and she would take care of this matter. It was never taken care of because I keep getting bills from collection agencies. I don't understand why they are still trying to get the money that I had already paid 5 years ago. If you could solve this problem I would be very grateful. Thank You.
