I attended ECPI in 2002 I paid for each class I attended by check, I did not want to apply for financial aid. After taking four classes I decided to go to an online school to get my bachelors instead of the associates they offer I already had my general education requirements from another university and the online school would take them and it would only take me a year to get my bachelors So I withdrew and received a refund check because I withdrew within the first week that the classes started. I remained at the address that thry had on file for 2 years and never received any correspondence. Now its four years later and I am receiving a bill from a collection agency from them for 4661.00. Before this time frame I never received a bill from them I bought a house and a car and ecpi was never on my credit reports if I had owed them the money and received a bill I would of paid them my father had died a year and a half later and I paid off all my debts never had a bill from them. I am sending a letter to the collection agency to validate the amount I want to see how they came up with that. Because the collector say I went to ecpi in alexandria I went in vabeach. Also I want to see if they have record of my payments I did. If not I will send the copy of the canceled checks they cashed. Before I dish out money to order the copy of the canceled checks I want to see if they have the correct dates I attended the school. If you received a bill asking for money from them send a letter asking them to validate the amount they must send you copy of application you signed and an itemized statement showing how they came up with these charges and any payments you did make. I paid by check for each class I attended I did not sign form for financial aid they kept calling me down to office to sign form and each time I told them no I was paying as I went along because my mother did not want them looking at her financial records.
